How to open a bank account for a minor?

You can also open a bank account for a minor. A bank account for a minor under 14 years old shall be managed by parents, adoptive parents or a legal guardian. A minor from 14 to 18 years old may open and manage a bank account independently if a bank receives a written consent from parents, adoptive parents or a legal guardian, specifying that the minor may independently open, manage a bank account and dispose of the funds on it without a separate agreement from parents, adoptive parents or a legal guardian. The consent must be approved by the bank or a notary public.

To open a bank account for a minor, please submit the following documents:
1. Birth certificate or a personal identification document of a minor (if available).
2. Personal identification documents of both parents, adoptive parents or a legal guardian.
3. Evidence that a person is appointed a legal guardian or adoptive parent of a minor.
4. Agreement of both parents, adoptive parents or a legal guardian regarding the disposal of the funds on the bank account approved by the bank.  In case a single parent or adoptive parent arrives with a minor, a consent regarding the disposal of the funds on the minor’s bank account from the other parent approved by a notary public shall be produced.
