The Banker has nominated Šiaulių Bankas as the Bank of the Year 2015 in Lithuania

Influential financial magazine The Banker issued by the Financial Times has awarded Šiaulių Bankas, the largest Lithuanian capital bank, as the best bank in Lithuania.  Such a prestigious award has been assigned to Šiaulių Bankas for the second time.

Being ranked as the best national bank by the solid international publication is a weighty assessment of Šiaulių Bankas performance.  In 2015, the year of demanding challenges with the euro adoption in Lithuanian and   geopolitical uncertainty on the international stage, Šiaulių Bankas has managed to grow steadily.  The bank’s rational investment into structural reorganization, well-grounded decisions for expansion, a harmony of on-going traditional activity and innovations, and an effective policy for boosting efficiency and managing costs account for the factors leading us to success," - said Chief Executive Officer of Šiaulių Bankas, Vytautas Sinius.

According to V.Sinius, even a stronger leading position in housing modernization programme, decisive investments into development, expanded activities in the area of insurance, leasing and provision of investing services increased the competitiveness of Šiaulių Bankas as well as its significance and value in the country.  In parallel, the consecutive operation of Šiaulių Bankas based on the bank's values and focusing on strengthening capabilities and potential of the Lithuanian population, its business and entire country provided a firm foundation for achieving ambitious goals set by the bank.

This year Šiaulių Bankas has significantly contributed to the euro adoption in Lithuania, launched the re-branding process by introducing a new brand strategy and, through integration of leasing and investing companies, offered provision of complex financing options to its clients. Currently, the Bank is actively deploying the SEPA project, at the end of which the clients will be able to execute payment in the entire euro area easily and safely and to take advantage of a convenient e-invoice service.

Wishing to be quickly and easily accessible to its customers across the country, Šiaulių Bankas, instead of closing a part of its customer service points, has reduced the maintenance costs in 2015 by implementing the internal structural re-arrangement leading to the high-quality customer servicing in the regions. Currently, Šiaulių Bankas is operating through 70 client service point throughout Lithuania.

Offering a variety of forms for business financing, providing personalized investing and investment management services, continuing housing renovation financing projects and providing high quality financial services, Šiaulių Bankas further plans to strengthen its market position and increase brand awareness.

For the first time the prestigious nomination of The Banker's bank of the year in Lithuania was granted to Šiaulių Bankas in 2013.  Another significant nomination with respect to Šiaulių Bankas performance was assigned to the bank last year when the international business and finance magazine Global Finance, ranking the world’s safest banks, had announced the safest banks on the country-by-country basis for the first time.  In the country-by-country category Šiaulių Bankas was nominated as the safest bank in Lithuania in 2014.
