Šiaulių Bankas Increases Security Of The Operations Carried Out Via SB Linija
In view of the security requirements set by the Bank of Lithuania for online payments and in order to strengthen online payment security, since 1 April 2016 the existing customers, with the exception of those who use electronic signature or code generator, in Šiaulių Bankas online banking system SB Linija will have to confirm some operations by the means of additional password sent via SMS. Clients are invited to provide the bank with their mobile phone number to be used for this purpose.
From 1 April 2016 the existing customers, with the exception of those who use electronic signature or code generator, will have to confirm the payment order to transfer more than 30 euros to the accounts in other Lithuanian and foreign banks via online banking system SB Linija not only by entering the necessary passwords from PIN code card, but also by additional password. This additional password will be sent to customers free via SMS.
To start using this additional customer authentication tool, enhancing security of online payments, Šiaulių Bankas customers, with the exception of those who use electronic signature or code generator, will have to disclose the bank their mobile phone number, to which SMS with the additional password should be sent.
Before 1 April 2016 the private clients who sign the transactions with the self-created password or or PIN code card can provide their cell phone number conveniently by logging into SB Linija. When connected, brief contact number renewal form will open immediately, which must be filled in order to see full the SB Linija menu and to perform operations. You can disclose your telephone number also by coming to Šiaulių Bankas unit. If necessary, the entered phone number, before 1 April, can be updated via the SB Linija, by selecting menu item Settings à Form for Contact Number Update. After 1 April, changing the set phone number will only be possible upon arrival to Šiaulių Bankas unit.
Corporate customers will be informed about opportunity to provide their mobile number via SB Linija by a separate notification. Before receiving such notification they will be able to update their telephone number visiting any customer service point of Šiaulių Bankas.
Šiaulių Bankas points out that clients will be able to sign operations via SB Linija also using password generator, stationary electronic signature or one of the safest and highly convenient electronic instrument being the mobile electronic signature that Tele2 and Omnitel subscribers can purchase in any Šiaulių Bankas unit.
