Šiaulių bankas earned more than LTL 11 million


During the first quarter of 2008 Šiaulių bankas earned LTL 11,1 million in pre-audited net profit, i.e. by 21.2 per cent more than during the same period last year, when the net profit comprised almost LTL 9,2 million.

After three months of 2008, Šiaulių bankas’ assets reached almost LTL 2,1 billion and grew by LTL 615 million in the course of the year. According to the data provided for the first quarter of this year, the loan portfolio increased by 53 per cent or by LTL 547 million and exceeded LTL 1,5 billion. The amount of deposits placed with Šiaulių bankas reached almost LTL 1,3 billion, i.e. it increased by nearly a quarter in comparison the relevant period last year.

Šiaulių bankas is a rapidly growing bank, a partner for small and medium-sized business. The bank has 60 regional outlets operating in 32 towns of Lithuania.  The major shareholder of Šiaulių bankas is the Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which owns 16,06 per cent of the total bank’s shares. However, Šiaulių bankas still remains one of the bank’s in country with the biggest share of Lithuanian capital as even 71 per cent of the bank’s authorized capital belongs to residents of Lithuania, corporate and private entities.
